Time to Boycott the RNC
I have a great friend that is one of the most astute political minds I know. He blogs a tBloviating Zeppelin, and last night we had a rather long discussion about the following story.
I would be interested in your thoughts on the matter of cutting off ALL donations to the GOP and RNC.
Time to Boycott the RNC
By Alicia ColonThroughout the 2012 election, I kept receiving mail from the Republican National Committee urging me to send in a donation for what was probably the most important election of our lives.I ignored the entreaties and instead gave what I could to individual campaigns and ignored the RNC because it is totally clueless when it comes to winning elections. What worked in 2010 to win the House was ignored this year because the RNC is full of the establishment GOP that lives in an elitist bubble ignoring the fact that the Democrat Party has community organizers trained by Saul Alinsky. The Republicans do not have community organizers because they only operate in areas that support their issues. They avoid the communities that Romney called the 47% because they consider it a waste of resources and energy. The Democratic Party knows how to stretch that 47% to a majority come Election Day and they do this by organizing and by sheer fraud. This is why Democrats promote liberal voting protocols like early voting and same day registration while objecting to voter ID laws and updating registration lists. As long as these voting accommodations remain in place, Republicans will lose in tight races.Meanwhile, the liberals in Congress and the media continue to apply Alinsky’s rules for radicals by shouting racism and sexism at Republicans whenever they can. One can always tell when the liberals have no way to refute the truth when they bring up the race card.Consider the attacks on those critics of Ambassador Susan Rice for her misleading statements on Benghazi incident:On the Chris Matthews show, Richard Wolffe, who was recently named the vice president and executive editor of MSNBC’s revamped website, UN Ambassador Susan Rice and Attorney General Eric Holder have faced criticism recently because they’re black.Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) accused Republicans (McCain and Graham) of using racial ‘code words’ when they criticized Rice as being incompetent. One is also not to say that Obama is ‘lazy’ because that too is a racial code word.Linda Martin Alcoff, a CUNY philosophy professor, warned that white people were about to launch a race war against Hispanics. She argued that changes in demographics were causing white people to lose their political power to the rising Latino population.Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz said the Republican Party “got whiter and more male” while the Democratic caucus is “majority minority and female.”This, of course, is nothing new, just liberal politics as usual and any attempt to debunk their arguments is futile. One of the most highly educated, competent and talented women, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, was pilloried in the left stream media with cartoons calling her, “Bush’s house nigga” and Aunt Jemima but since she was a Republican no media uproar followed.Recently on the Sean Hannity Fox show a panel of black conservatives refuted those charges but here’s a clue to the clueless RNC. The 47% doesn’t watch that show. In fact most refuse to watch Fox News channel because they’re not interested in fair and balanced news. They don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin or any of the conservative radio hosts. Their radio if they listen at all is set on WBAI or an FM music station. They do not read National Review, The Weekly Standard or if they do go online will not log on to conservative websites. They may be on Twitter following celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Bill Maher or Jon Stewart. In the social service offices, the TV sets are tuned to MSNBC or CNN not Fox or the Fox Business channel because the state of the economy is not of priority interest to them. What the RNC does not seem to understand is that there are Democrats who will never vote for a Republican, my relatives are among them. The sad fact is that the RNC has no interest in changing their minds.Much was made about the viral video of the Obama supporter urging us to keep him in office because he gives out phones. When Romney gave a post-election speech claiming that Obama gave out ‘gifts’, he was castigated by both the liberals and the GOP establishment but he was right. Until the GOP makes an effort to find out why it is despised by so many Americans, disappointing election results will be the same.Getting to understand the Obama ‘phone’ crowd does not mean the party’s principles have to be sacrificed but it will show them that at least Republicans are interested in their lives. Instead of having focus groups to find out how the middle class feels about candidates and issues why not have town hall meetings organized by inner city community churches and social clubs? How about spending some money in that community hiring help to cater and to secure these events?Instead of depending on a tech voting program like Orca that can be easily sabotaged, why haven’t they invested in human beings? Democrats pay their ‘volunteer’ community organizers. The RNC collects millions but they have no idea how to spend it. How about spending it finding out from people like that phone woman why they hate the Republicans? They hate us because they do not know who we are. We have allowed others to tell our history and to distort it.The Republicans have many outstanding people of color to reach out and convey the history and principles of the GOP in their communities. Unfortunately these individuals do not rank high in the upper echelons of the RNC and that is why throwing money at it to continue the cluelessness is a waste. The GOP needs people like Alfonzo Rachel of PJMedia’s Zonation to speak for the party. Watch his YouTube videos where he demonstrates that he knows more about the history of the party than the RNC which refuses to get back to its basics. He equates how the Democrats rationalized slavery and is now equating abortion with it by not considering blacks or fetuses to be human.ET Williams of Common Sense Nation also has posted many illuminating videos on YouTube which I doubt the establishment GOP has ever watched. For heaven’s sake, in Lincoln’s time, the GOP had brave radicals fighting against slavery. They were fighting a Democratic Party which founded the KKK yet most blacks and Hispanics believe that it is the party of civil rights and the GOP is against them. Why have the Republicans allowed this utter canard on its record to exist? So until the RNC stands for the Radical National Committee and starts correcting the history of its origin and long battle for civil rights, I won’t be sending them a single penny again.Alicia Colon resides in New York City and can be reached ataliciav.colon@gmail.com and at www.aliciacolon.comFull Story Here:
Irish Examiner USA: Time To Boycott The RNC
Perhaps it IS time to teach the GOP a lesson, but I fear it is already too late.
My gripe with the GOP/RNC isn’t over any accusations of RACE or lack of response to those that make such claims, my gripe with the GOP/RNC is that I honestly feel like they have lost their way, turned their back on reality and expect the American voter to accept them and whatever candidate they offer up simply *because*.
No longer my friends, the GOP/RNC are OFF of MY support list, at least on a national level, and quite frankly, even GOP on the state level is going to have to EARN my money from now on.
