In 2008, most newspapers readily endorsed then Senator Barack Obama.  Now a number of those same newspapers are abandoning their hero of four years ago and turning their endorsements to Republican Mitt Romney.

Perhaps the largest coup of Romney’s new found friends is the Des Moines Register.  Iowa is one of the key swing states that both candidates have been actively courting.  The Des Moines Register is the largest newspaper in the Hawkeye state.  In 2008, Obama carried Iowa with a 54% to 45% margin.  The Quad City Times from Davenport, Iowa, has also switched from Obama to Romney.  The endorsements of Romney by both newspapers could have a definite effect in this year’s election and just may be enough to swing the state to Romney’s favor by a narrow margin, giving him 6 Electoral College votes that went to Obama in 2008.

In Florida, at least five newspapers that endorsed Obama in 2008 have also switched their endorsements to Mitt Romney.  Those newspapers include the Orlando Sentinel, Pensacola News Journal, Florida Today, Naples Daily News and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.  Once again this was a state that Obama won in 2008 by a narrow 51% to 49% margin.  A week before the election, Florida’s 29 Electoral votes (that went to Obama last time) are still a toss-up.  As more Florida newspapers turn from Obama and endorse Romney, they just may be enough to swing the state over to Romney.

Nevada, another swing state and home to Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid, is another swing state with 6 Electoral College votes that is still considered to be a toss-up.  In 2008, Obama won the state by a 55% to 43% margin.  In Reid’s home turf, the Reno Gazette-Journal is another newspaper that turned from its 2008 endorsement of Obama to throw their endorsement to Mitt Romney.

Other newspapers in states like New York, California, Illinois and Texas that endorsed Obama in 2008 have been switching their endorsements to Romney.  The question is, will it be enough to help push Romney over the edge

Conservative Christians Will Give The caliph خليفة Benedict Arnold Second Term

As conservative Christian, I would love nothing more than to be able to vote for a Christian president.  I know of many other conservative Christians who feel the same way.  And because of their faith and convictions, they may well give Barack Obama a second term as president and insure the complete collapse of America.

I’ve heard a number of friends say that they will not vote for Obama or Romney because neither of them are Christian.  They either intend to vote for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, or a write-in candidate that is a Christian or not vote at all.  I’ve tried to explain to them that by throwing their votes to anyone other than Romney will only serve to improve Obama’s chances of winning re-election.

Sadly, they counter with the statement that if all Christians voted this way, it would make a difference.  The fact is, not all Christians will vote this way and no one other than Obama or Romney stand a chance of winning the election.  Taking their votes away from Romney will only help Obama.

Even though Romney is a Mormon and Johnson a Christian, Romney favors more Christian values than Johnson does.  Gary Johnson professes to be a Lutheran, but he favors and endorses abortion and same-sex marriage.  Johnson also endorses the legalization of marijuana.  Romney is against abortion, same-sex marriage and the legalization of marijuana.

However, it seems that none of this matters to some conservative Christians.  All they care about is voting for a Christian, regardless of how liberal his values and morals are.  My response to them on this issue is to consider that God used Rahab, a non-Hebrew prostitute to save the Hebrew spies that Joshua sent to spy out the Promised Land that God promised His people.  God also used Balaam’s ass to keep him from certain destruction.  If God can use a prostitute and an ass to save His people, then I’m sure He could use a Mormon to help save America.

On the converse, I seriously doubt that God would bless America if we re-elect a Muslim leader whose religion promotes the complete destruction and annihilation of Christians worldwide.  If you don’t believe it, just look at how much of His blessing He has pulled away from America during the reign of Obama.  The more our nation embraces Obama’s heathen ways, especially the endorsement of same-sex marriage and the further removal of all things Christian, the more God has turned His blessings into judgments.

If conservative Christians do not vote for Mitt Romney, it greatly increases the chances of Obama’s re-election and the further removal of God’s blessings.  More Obama means more of God’s judgment and I’m not sure how much more judgment America can stand before we can stand no longer and fall into ruin.

The Blasphemous Deification of El Presidente

Ever since Barack Obama first announced his intentions of running for president in 2007, people have flocked to him as if he were some kind of Messiah.  Once he was elected and sworn into office, many began to deify him and place him on the same plane as Jesus Christ.

Just prior to the 2008 presidential election, Maggie Mertens, an associate editor for the Smith College (Massachusetts) campus newspaper, wrote a commentary headlined as:

“I Will Follow Him: Obama As My Personal Jesus.”

Her commentary went on to say:

“Obama is my homeboy. And I’m not saying that because he’s black – I’m saying that in reference to those Urban Outfitters T-shirts from a couple years ago that said, ‘Jesus is my homeboy.’ Yes, I just said it. Obama is my Jesus.”

Not long after taking office, images of Obama appeared all over the internet showing his lifted chin and arrogant look on his face a halo over his head.

As Obama approached his first 100 days in office, artist Michael D’Antuono prepared to unveil his painting, The Truth, of Obama in front of the presidential seal, arms outstretched and wearing a crown of thorns.  There was no doubt that the image was meant to portray Obama as the Savior.  The pre-publicity of the unveiling created a great deal of public outrage which was so overwhelming that the scheduled event was cancelled.

In December of 2009, just after Christmas, an editorial appeared in Politiken, a prominent Danish newspaper, not only compared Obama to Jesus Christ but went one step beyond in raising him above Jesus, saying:

“And no we are not thinking of Jesus Christ, whose birthday has just been celebrated – - but rather the President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama….

Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus – if we have to play that absurd Christmas game.”

With the Democratic National Convention taking place in Charlotte, North Carolina, Obama memorabilia abounds on the streets and in the shops.  One of those pieces of memorabilia is an Obama calendar.  The calendar features various photos of Obama and an assortment of assumed facts.  However, when you turn the calendar to August, the month in which Obama was born, you find a photo of his supposed short form birth certificate, a small photo of Obama in the corner and the following caption:

“Heaven Sent,

For God so lover the world,

That he gave his only begotten

Son, that whosoever believeth

In him should not perish, but

Have everlasting life. – John 3:16”

The small photo of Obama included next to the Scripture verse shows him in a darkened room with a light shining on him as if to signify his deity.  The same type of light and shadow is used on the birth certificate to highlight “State of Hawaii” and “Barack Hussein Obama.”

Not long ago in America, no one would ever consider committing such blatant acts of blasphemy.  In the early days of America, one would be arrested and jailed for such actions.  2000 years ago, Jesus was hung on a cross to die for claiming to be deity and the Son of God.

But America has declined so far that many of these acts are not only made public, but hailed and promoted by many.  They care not for the seriousness or consequences of their actions.  They don’t see it as blasphemy to the Creator of heaven and earth, but as a tribute to their earthly Messiah, the one who promised to save them from the despair they were in.

I’ve got one big news flash for them.  Jesus Kept All Of His Promises!!!

No Protestant on Presidential Ballot – First Time in History of U.S.

I was looking at the backgrounds of the four men on the presidential tickets and it hit me that there is not one Protestant among them.  After conducting a little more research, I discovered that this is the first time in the history of the United States that there has not been at least one Protestant running for President or Vice President.

Barack Obama’s bio, which is highly questionable from his birth through college, is listed as being a Christian with no denominational preference.  However, if someone talks like a Muslim, walks like Muslim, acts like Muslim and gives preferential treatment to Muslims over Christians, I classify him as a Muslim.  Besides, a true follower of Jesus Christ would not do and say the things that Obama has.

Joe Biden is a Catholic as is the Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan.  Mitt Romney is a Mormon, which many people believe to be a cult and not part of the Christian church.

So when you compare the two tickets, you have a Muslim and a Catholic on one side and a Mormon and Catholic on the other.  From a religious point of view, I have to admit that I am not thrilled with either choice.  It reminded me of the words of the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court who said:

“Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

It saddens me to not have the choice of Christian leaders for president this year.  I know some of you will write and say to vote for the Libertarian candidate, but that can only serve to divide the GOP votes and help insure Obama’s re-election.  I saw what happened when Ross Perot ran for President and took enough Republican votes that Democrat Bill Clinton got elected, and it was Clinton who created the financial and job mess America is in today.  Splitting the GOP vote with a Libertarian or anyone else will be a very bad thing to do.

That leaves me with looking at each man’s views and stances on various issues and asking which ones are closest to true Christian and biblical values.  When you compare the two Catholic vice presidential candidates, it quickly becomes obvious that Biden has virtually no biblical or Christian values whatsoever.  Ryan is far more conservative in these areas than Biden, so for VP, my religious vote has to go to Ryan over Biden.

Religiously speaking, Obama, like Biden, has displayed little, if any, Christian or biblical values since taking office.  Romney, has spoken out against homosexuality and other issues that would be more in line with Christian and biblical values.  Therefore, my religious vote for President would have to go to Romney as well for those reasons.

To follow the instructions of Chief Justice John Jay, I have no alternative but to cast my vote in November for Romney and Ryan and pray like never before that they do what is biblical and right.
