"I'm so glad we had that storm last week."

So amazingly said MSNBC's Chris Matthews about Hurricane Sandy Tuesday night following the announcement that Barack Obama had won re-election (video follows with transcript and commentary):

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let me just close my thoughts tonight. It takes a half a second. I am so proud of the country to re-elect this president and overcoming, not because of the partisanship or any of the, even the policies. Just the fact, here’s an African guy, African-American guy from an unusual background. Part immigrant background, part African-American background with all this assault on him from day one, from Mitch McConnell, from the clowns out there that aren’t elected and never will be to anything. And the way he took it, as somebody said it, with coolness and charm and dignity, and just took it and took it and kept moving forward doing his job. And, and the American people, and I know we look at these percentages, 40 percent of the white vote, fine. That’s about right among Democrats in the last couple of cycles, three cycles or four.

Good work for them, good work for him, a good day for America. I’m so glad we had that storm last week because I think the storm was one of those things. No, politically I should say, not in terms of hurting people. The storm brought in possibilities for good politics.

This is the Machiavellian mind of a liberal media member today.

Sandy will go down as one of the worst storms to ever hit America.

Millions are still without power and are battling freezing temperatures.

The lives of tens of thousands of our citizens might never be the same.

But to Chris Matthews, that's okay because the object of his affection was re-elected.

And he has not one but two nationally televised programs from which to spout this staggeringly biased nonsense.

This is America 2012.

It's almost impossible to believe.

Jay Leno took some surprising shots at President Obama Thursday night.

During the opening monologue of NBC's Tonight Show, the host said Americans wasted four years for the current White House resident to do something about the economy (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

"I love how the politicians capitalize on this kind of thing," teased Leno. "Like the minute the replacement refs were fired, President Obama said, 'See, sometimes losing jobs can be a good thing. It's a good thing.'"

When the laughter subsided, Leno continued, "A new survey out today shows how much time we waste every day in our lives. For example, we waste seven minutes in line every time we go to get coffee, 28 minutes getting through airport security, four years waiting for Obama to do something about the economy. Every year, we waste a lot. We wasted a lot of time."

Yes we did. It's about time media members began telling the nation that.

Fox News's Chris Wallace on Sunday asked senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs an absolutely delicious question about the current White House resident's schedule.

During a Fox News Sunday interview, the host said, "The President has blocked out time to appear on The View on Tuesday. So, he has time for Whoopi Goldberg but he doesn’t have time for world leaders?" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for commentary):

CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: I want to go back to the UN though and New York this week. You say that he’s got schedules, that foreign leaders have schedules. But the President has blocked out time to appear on The View on Tuesday. So, he has time for Whoopi Goldberg but he doesn’t have time for world leaders?

ROBERT GIBBS, OBAMA SENIOR CAMPAIGN ADVISER: No, Chris. Look, the President is going to be actively involved at the UN General Assembly.

WALLACE: He’s not meeting with any private leaders. He's giving a speech.

GIBBS: Chris, they have telephones in the White House. Last week, he talked to the President of Egypt. He talked to the leader in Libya. We don't need a meeting in Washington just to confer with leaders. We’ve got a strong...

WALLACE: But he does need the time to be on The View?

GIBBS: We have a strong diplomatic – I’m sure if he was doing an interview with you on Fox News, you’d have no problem with that.

WALLACE: Well, he hasn't, but that’s not the point.

GIBBS: I’m sure that’s not the point. No, look Chris, he’s got a strong schedule. He’s actively involved.

WALLACE: You don't have a problem with the fact that he’s not meeting with any world leaders, but he’s going to appear on The View?

GIBBS: I have no problem with that, because, Chris, you’re the President of the United States every minute of every day.

It's not often that hear a mainstream media member have anything nice to say about former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

This is why it's worth noting ABC's Jonathan Karl uttering without an audible stammer on Sunday's This Week, "Sarah Palin is 4 for 4 on her Senate endorsements" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, HOST: We have got a couple more primaries coming up. Missouri and also Wisconsin, where Tommy Thompson, the former governor, facing some trouble as well from Tea Party challenger.

JONATHAN KARL, ABC: And I would say, Deb Fischer in Nebraska, not exactly a Tea Party candidate, although she was endorsed by Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin is 4 for 4 on her Senate endorsements. But they are not all Tea Partiers. She endorsed Orrin Hatch. And Fischer in Nebraska was not endorsed by any of the Tea Party groups.
