Feds Realize — Again — They Can’t Touch Sheriff Joe

Call it the Staredown at OK Corral.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio has won another round against the federal government as he continues to be one of the few officials actually standing up for the American people.

For nearly two years, the federal government “looked into” allegations of financial crimes made by members of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors against Sheriff Arpaio.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona had finished its review last summer of some of the allegations, declining to press criminal charges.

On Friday, the federal U.S. Attorney’s Office also informed the board of supervisors that it would not file any charges in connection with allegations of misuse of credit cards and jail excise tax funds.

There is still an ongoing probe of Arpaio and his deputies for alleged civil rights abuses.

Returning from the Republican National Convention, Arpaio said he was pleased with the decision and thanked the federal officials for clearing his office.

Arpaio and his office are targets of all these accusations because he has stood up to the White House repeatedly — first by enforcing immigration laws King Obama doesn’t want enforced, second by investigating Obama’s birth certificate and other documentation and revealing that our president is engaged in fraud.

“I can tell you this, based on all of the evidence presented and investigated, I cannot in good faith report to you that these documents are authentic,” Arpaio said during a press conference announcing his investigators’ findings.

The charges of civil rights abuses have to do with claims of racial profiling by officers when they arrest illegal immigrants. When the Supreme Court heard the case about Arizona’s immigration laws, it upheld the key provision allowing law enforcement to inquire into the immigration status of people they detain. The court effectively said it was willing to give Arizona a chance to prove it could enforce the provision without racial profiling.

Sheriff Arpaio so far has withstood everything the feds and liberals have thrown at him. As the feds slink back to their cave, they’re showing yet again it’s not for nothing that Arpaio’s called “America’s toughest sheriff.”

Dear Fellow Patriot, F**K Sheriff Joe. Those were the words of George Lopez in a profanity laced rant against me just this week. And he didn’t just say it once. He repeated it time and time again while also cursing me in Spanish.  Will you help me fight back? Because of the positions I have taken on tough issues (like illegal immigration), I am used to coming under attack from political opponents, the media and even the Obama’s Justice Department.
