The “Arab Spring” that was intended to be one of the shining jewels in the Obama Administration’s treasury of accomplishments continues to decay.

It never was what President Obama and his minions portrayed it as anyway. Far from being the birth of a widespread democracy movement amid medieval Muslim dictatorships, it rapidly became obvious to most of the world that the “Arab Spring” was about installing the Muslim Brotherhood and its kindred radical Islamists in the halls of power.

The September 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead was just one symptom of the disease that spread through the Muslim world with the “Arab Spring.” The Administration had used its influence and military resources in fighting a short but illegal war against strongman Moammar Gadhaffi.

Obama never went before Congress to even inform them of what the U.S. was doing in the region, much less to ask for a declaration of war. His duplicity came back to bite him in Benghazi when local al-Qaida-linked militia members who had helped remove Gadhaffi turned around and used U.S.-supplied arms to attack the U.S. mission, which was not an embassy but a weapons-smuggling operation run by the CIA to arm “rebels” in Syria.

Syria is shaping up to be another disaster for this Administration as the so-called civil war drags on due to the involvement of the U.S. and Russia on opposite sides. Now there are rumblings that the “rebels,” many of whom are from those same al-Qaida-linked groups we’ve been fighting for more than a decade, want to turn south and attack Israel, our putative ally.

The other poster child for Obama’s “democracy” movement is Egypt, which elected the Muslim Brotherhood candidate to the country’s presidency and which has descended further into darkness ever since.

Mass violence never really stopped in Egypt. It was just directed toward Christians and Jews, who have been intimidated, arrested, beaten, raped and killed as Muslims have gone on sporadic rampages of looting, burning and destroying homes, synagogues and churches.

The mob violence continues to grow worse as the country is overcome by the spirit of depravity. On Sunday, in a crowded bus station an hour’s drive outside of Cairo, an angry mob lynched two men and hung their bodies upside down for all to see.

The photos are grisly and clearly show the two bloody bodies above a bus station platform overflowing with a throng of angry people. The men were stripped and clearly beaten severely.

According to security officials, a crowd of about 3,000 shouted “Kill them! Kill them!” as the leaders of the lynching and dozens of other people murdered the two men, who had been accused of stealing a rickshaw.

Egyptian Justice Minister Ahmed Mekky has condemned the growing lawlessness in his country. “The meting out of rough justice on thugs and outlaws,” Mekky said, “as well as blocking roads and highways by citizens, are signs of the state’s death. … The government that allows this to happen is an unjust government, because it does not afford citizens with adequate protection.”

If Egypt is an unjust government by its justice minister’s own admission, what does that make the United States, which sends military aide and fighter jets to Egypt?

Maybe if the media could lay off questions about Obama’s golf game or popularity polls, they could ask him.

A lot has been said — in the press, by the president, by others –about President Obama’s affinity for the Muslim world.

From his promise that “I will stand with them (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” to his description of the Muslim call to prayer as one of the prettiest sounds on Earth to his bowing before the Saudi king, Obama’s actions have convinced many people that the president is a Muslim, despite his protestations and claims to the contrary.

What hasn’t often been asked but should be, given recent evidence of infiltration by the Muslim Brotherhood in most if not all levels of government, is whether there is a Muslim agent working in the White House to manipulate the president.

One of Obama’s few actions that has shown any willingness to combat Muslim terrorism in defense of the U.S. has been his much-ballyhooed decision to order Navy SEALs to kill Osama bin Laden.

Now, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely has issued a report based on an insider intelligence source that says Obama actually was clueless about the effort to get Osama, deliberately kept out of the loop by some of his senior Cabinet officers.

According to the report, Director of Central Intelligence Leon Panetta was the key player who made the call to get bin Laden, with the assistance of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Adm. Bill Mullen and Gen. David Petraeus.

Obama was not told about the effort until the SEAL team was already in Pakistani air space. The president was on the golf course when he was informed.

The reason for the sneaking about was that Panetta and the other staffers were tired of Obama nixing their efforts to take out the leader of al-Qaida. According to the report, Obama had rejected three kill missions earlier in the year.

In his book “Leading From Behind,” author Richard Miniter wrote that adviser Valerie Jarrett was the voice who kept urging Obama not to kill bin Laden.

Jarrett is a powerful figure at the White House, an Obama family friend who has an unexplained hold over the president and first lady.

Jarrett was born in Iran to American parents and lived there until about the age of 5. As a child, she spoke Persian and French. She and her parents spent one year in London, then came back to Chicago.

Her father-in-law is journalist Vernon Jarrett, who worked closely with Communist Party member and Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis. Valerie Jarrett headed Obama’s transition team and personally vetted communist Van Jones and all the other extremists Obama has appointed.

In his book “The Amateur,” Edward Klein points out that Jarrett is the power behind the throne who sits in on every meeting, decides who gets to see the president and monitors who is loyal to Obama and who needs to be gotten rid of. The president reportedly doesn’t make a move without her, and she was the single roadblock to getting bin Laden.

Her religious leanings are not clear. The media either have not asked or have not gotten an answer. Many have speculated and others have denied that she, like Obama, is a closet Muslim.

What is clear is that she not only has communist contacts but she is a point man for the Administration in meetings with Muslim activists. She was named Iranian of the Day in August 2008 by Iranian.com.

She has been associated with the Obamas since their early days in Chicago, and those familiar with her background say that she provided crucial financial backing that helped Obama raise his national profile.

Our secretary of state has a chief aide who is connected to the Muslim Brotherhood in Huma Abedeen. Could Obama’s chief adviser, the woman who has been described as co-president, be a Muslim ringer as well?

The brief article on Iranian.com says Jarrett is Shirazi, but it is unclear whether the writer means that she was born in Shiraz, Iran, or that she is a member of the Swahili subgroup called Shirazi. The article calls her “African-American and Chicago royalty.” Links in the article to further information go to a blank page.

To a large extent, the woman pulling the strings at the White House is as much a mystery as the president himself.

Did Ambassador in Libya Die for Administration’s Pro-Gay Agenda?

I suspect most people, were they to be put in charge of a task such as staffing foreign embassies, would have at least enough common sense not to put an openly gay man in a high-profile ambassadorship in a deeply Muslim country.

“Equal right” blah-de-blah is all fine and good when the backdrop is a civilized country, but under Islam, Muslims still kill gays, especially ones who are dumb enough to advertise their homosexuality.

According to HillBuzz, that may be why Ambassador Chris Stevens was targeted for murder in Libya.

Despite the liberal spin that Stevens died of “smoke inhalation,” there are persistent stories from witnesses that he was raped, killed and displayed in the streets before friendly people were able to retrieve the body.

Sources in Chicago who knew Stevens all say he was gay, so it’s fair to assume the State Department knew it and that Hillary Clinton knew it when she and the president were condemning a videotape that no one had seen.

Under Clinton, and one assumes with the OK of the president, the State Department apparently has been using taxpayer dollars to fund gay pride events around the world, according to HillBuzz.

So much for that multicultural respect liberals are always going on about.

This Administration is in it up to their necks in terms of the exploding Mideast situation. Even though Clinton finally admitted “terrorism” was involved in Libya, she and Obama keep spinning that same story about the anti-Muslim video to keep their supporters from looking too closely at their own culpability.

It’s bad enough that Obama has directly aided the radicals in Libya, Egypt and elsewhere, but if it was widely known that Clinton sent a gay man to his death as some sort of social experiment, even the most die-hard liberals might wake up and realize what they’ve put in charge of the country.

Chick-fil-A Reportedly Surrenders to the Bullies

I wonder what Dan Cathy is thinking.

The CEO of Chick-fil-A in July found himself and his company in a blizzard of controversy when he said in an interview that he supported the biblical definition of marriage, causing liberals to kick off one of their occasional spasms of outrage and attempt to organize a national boycott against the chain.

Instead, the outpouring of support from conservatives and supporters of free speech put the liberals to shame and showed that Americans still believe that people and companies should not be targets of hatred, vandalism and violence because of their beliefs, particularly when they involve traditional beliefs held by millions of people for thousands of years.

It was a great moment to be American and conservative.

Now, Chick-fil-A is reportedly turning around and giving in to the gay bullies.

According to a press release from The Civil Rights Agenda, a gay lobby group, Chick-fil-A has agreed to stop donating to groups that support real marriage.

The development comes in connection with negotiations with Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno, the reprehensible slimeball who threatened to block Chick-fil-A from his city because he disagrees with the company’s pro-family viewpoint.

The company also released a memo to its franchisees and other stakeholders stating its official policy is to “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender.” By itself, that’s no concern. The Chicago Tribune points out that this is essentially the same policy statement Chick-fil-A had posted on Facebook even before Moreno stuck his nose into the company’s business.

Pro-family organizations that Chick-fil-A has contributed to through its charitable foundation include Exodus International, Focus on the Family and Family Research Council. According to TCRA, Chick-fil-A has agreed to re-examine its contributions and not fund organizations with political agendas. (Of course, defending the biblical definition of marriage is only “political” because radical extremists are trying to tear down American society by attacking its foundational principles.)

Like all bullies, TCRA isn’t content with the concessions it’s received, but it wants more. Said TCRA Executive Director Anthony Martinez, the change in Chick-fil-A policy was “only one step” toward making peace with the “LGBT” community. In other words, expect more arm twisting and humiliation later.

I’d like to think that maybe Mr. Cathy doesn’t have anything to do with this, that maybe it’s a mistake or just the gay bullies making up stories to ratchet up the pressure on Chick-fil-A, but I suspect that it’s true.

If it is, Cathy should rethink. After the outpouring of support he and his company got, to give in to this crowd of radicals and back off his support of traditional family values would be to slap his loyal customers in the face and spit on the very reasons they supported Chick-fil-A in the first place.

When the company stood up to the bullies, it gained thousands of new customers. Chick-fil-A executives better realize that backing down now likely will have the opposite effect.

Time is the Last Thing El Presidente Needs

The convention pleas of Barack Obama for more time to fix the economy sounded more like begging for mercy than a plan of action. Only someone with a completely numbed brain who hadn’t been paying attention for the past four years could have fallen for it.

Naturally, the Democrat faithful lapped it up.

King Obama has already had too much time to fix the economy, as Friday’s unemployment numbers showed.

The Democrats’ demagogic faith in their “tax ‘em to help ‘em” strategy has kept the country at above 8 percent unemployment for 43 months. During that time, millions of unemployed people have given up hope of ever finding another job and dropped out of the labor pool entirely.

According to the American Enterprise Institute, if the labor pool included the same number of people today that it did when Obama first entered office, the  unemployment rate today would be over 11 percent, not hovering just above 8 percent.

In a very real way, Mr. Hope and Change has benefited from Americans’ loss of hope that the economic picture will change.

The just-released figures for unemployment in August are a perfect example. The headlines have touted the creation of 93,000 jobs, but far more people lost jobs during the month, 119,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Just to keep up with population growth, the U.S. economy needs to create between 150,000 and 200,000  jobs net per month.

Because 368,000 people fled the labor force in August, shrinking the pool included by the government in its figures, the unemployment rate “shrank” to 8.1 percent.

The more people give up, the better the numbers look for Obama, who has accomplished nothing substantial in his first four years of “fixing” the economy.

If the labor pool continues to shrink under Obama’s and the Democrats’ misguidance, at some point there will be nothing left to fix.

The Adults are Back in Town With RNC; Get Ready for DNC Circus

“President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans… And to heal the planet… My promise is to help you and your family.” — Mitt Romney

That one line from Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech last night struck me as the most illustrative of the choice we face in November: Oblivion as we pursue more taxpayer-funded moonbat schemes, or dealing with economic reality and fixing it.

I have to admit I have not been a big Romney fan, but I was impressed by his RNC speech. He managed to touch all the salient points on Americans’ minds, hit home with some well-placed barbs directed at Obama, yet maintained a gentlemanly tone the whole time.

My one disappointment is the continuing shunning of Sarah Palin, but overall I felt the convention shredded the Democrats’ lie about a “War on Women” with a long list of strong women speakers who powerfully showed everything women can be: intelligent, successful, strong leaders and devoted wives and mothers.

God, America and family were the real stars of the convention, and Romney put a sharp point on the conservative outlook with everything from his discussion about his family’s struggles in his younger days to his direct challenge to Vladimir Putin: “Mr. Putin will see a little less ‘flexibility’ and more backbone.”

The RNC hammered home the point that President Obama has been an unmitigated disaster for the country. As Clint Eastwood said, “It’s a national disgrace.” Eastwood was talking to an empty chair representing the president. Very fitting.

Unfortunately, it will all just go over the heads of most liberals, whose DNC convention is up next in North Carolina.

The RNC had to deal with the threat of a passing hurricane. The DNC will bring its own hurricane with all the hot air that accompanies Democrats wherever they go.

The Occupy-whatever crowd, the Code Pinkos in their vagina costumes and the entire drug-addled, aged hippie crowd that couldn’t get through security at the RNC will be running the show at the DNC.

Expect endless tirades about a GOP “War on Women” and opposition to gay “marriage” (“The Other War on Women”), accusations of racism, how the GOP is really to blame for everything wrong with the country. Oh, and don’t forget the scheduled two-hour Muslim opening prayer, intended to capture the essence of Obama’s America.

Obama and the DNC really don’t have anything to run on, record-wise, so expect a lot of long-winded explanations about how Obama inherited our current mess and how Romney is rich and you’re not.

The one highlight that might make the DNC bearable is if they let Joe Biden talk off-script. He’s always a hoot.

As Eastwood said, “We all know Biden is the intellect of the Democratic Party. Kind of a grin with a body behind it.”
