DIANNY RANTS: Can You Take a Call from the Grave?

Dianthus breitbart
Apparently, the Obama Phones have not only been handed out to shrill, obnoxious parasitic women in Ohio, but also to lots and lots of dead people.
“Obama Phone!!!!!”
Congressman Tim Griffin is seeking to reform this giveaway program sponsored by a completely broke Federal Government. The Arkansas Republican wants to dial back the program enough to prevent fraud, mishandling and abuse.
As with other programs, like Food Stamps, Medicaid and every other benefit to the poor, under Obama, the free cell phone program qualifications were loosened to include far more people than before.
Including the dearly departed.
You May Qualify for a Free Cell Phone: Dead or Alive
In 2008, before Obama came into office, the program cost the Federal Government $819 million dollars. In 2012, that ballooned to $2.2 billion.
Hey, cell phones to the dead ain’t cheap.
In case you’re wondering, as with every free program, the Obama Phone program is paid for by you through surcharges added to each and every phone bill wireless or standard. Yes, those who are paying for their own cell phone are paying for the cell phones issued to those who qualify for this Government giveaway, including those on the wrong side of the grass.
I’m guessing the Dead received the Dead or Alive as a thank you for voting for Obama in 2012.
Compared to the astronomical debt Barack Obama has added in the first four years (more than six trillion dollars and counting), two point two billion dollars isn’t much. It’s a drop in the bucket.
Or, should I say, a drop in the grave.
But the Obama Phone program really does show just how unserious Barack Obama is about “lifting the poor out of poverty.”
The truth is, Obama digs the poor.
Ooh, dig. Totally wrong verb here, huh?
Obama loves poor people so much that he is broadening the definition of “poor” in order to increase the number of folks who can be classified as “poor.”
And apparently, he broadened the definition so much, it now includes the dead.
Which, upon reflection, is valid. The dead sure aren’t earning any money and they don’t seem to be eating either. Though, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we discovered that EBT cards were being issued to the dead as well.
What is it about Democrats and dead people?
Is it because, the dead really are the ideal target voter for Democrats?
They don’t think for themselves.
They don’t argue.
They always vote Democrat.
The reality about the Obama Administration is the poor are a cudgel (for Low-Info Voters, that’s a club) with which to bludgeon Republicans. Obama uses the poor as a weapon. Which is exactly why the more poor, the better.
I doubt very many people who actually think for themselves believe that Obama has any intention of doing something to get poor people out of poverty. He’s made things very comfortable for them.
After 150 years, of not having slavery in this country, Barack Hussein Obama has managed to enslave an entire group of Americans.
He didn’t use whips.
He didn’t bring them here in the belly of a ship where they were packed together like sardines, suffering from beatings, dysentery, or death.
Instead, he purchased these slaves with a weekly income (unemployment), groceries (Food Stamps), free health care (Medicaid), a housing stipend (Section 8).
And a free cell phone.
Obama has enslaved so many.
Though, unlike the slaves of the past, these slaves dutifully vote. And, always vote Democrat.
Even the dead ones.

The Democrats’ abortion extremism is revealed

First, Margaret Carlson warned the Democrats that their abortion extremism was a problem. Now another Democrat, Cokie Roberts, has stepped forward, trying to explain to Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) that their party risks alienating a lot of people:
Booker’s concern about “gutting family planning” is beside the point. Planned Parenthood “planning” services are not the problem; it is the number of abortions (329,445 abortions and only 841 referred women to adoption agencies were documented in its 2009-2010 report) that is the concern.
Frankly, it is not such a good idea for Democrats to talk a lot about abortion and “extremism.” The Post’s Josh Hicks reminds us of the “infant born alive” legislative fights in Illinois when Obama was a state senator:
The 2001 and 2002 measures included a controversial line that proved to be a sticking point. It said, “A live child born as a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person and accorded immediate protection under the law.”
Obama took issue with that part of the bill, saying it could interfere with a woman’s right to an abortion, as established through the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. . . .
Critics contend that this interpretation is not necessarily true . . .[and they] argue that Obama essentially opposed protecting the survivors.
Illinois lawmakers voted down a version of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in 2003 that was “an almost exact replica” of a federal law passed in 2002. Obama was one of the senators to vote no, even though he chaired the committee that sent the bill to the state Senate floor.
Obama swore during the 2008 election that he would have supported the federal Born Alive Infant Protection Act. . . . Obama denied any contradiction during an interview that year with the Christian Broadcasting Network, accusing the [National Right to Life Committee] of lying about the circumstances of his vote. . . .
The evidence suggests we could have awarded Four Pinocchios to the former Illinois senator for his comments to the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Well, it’s good that fact checkers have now concurred with numerous conservatives who made exactly these points in 2008.
But getting back to 2012, if Obama really wants to get into abortion extremism — pitting Mitt Romney’s view that abortion exceptions should be allowed for life of the mother, rape and incest against Obama’s belief that live infants who survive abortions don’t deserve protection — pro-life forces would welcome that fight.
It is only in the liberal echo chamber that extreme pro-abortion voices can convince themselves that their abortion “any time, for any reason paid for by the taxpayers” is a mainstream view. In making an issue of this, the Democratic convention did the pro-life movement a great service.

AP Factcheck: DNC Speakers - Embellish El Presidente Record, Mislead on Romney

Wednesday, 05 Sep 2012 09:18 AM

Speakers at the Democratic National Convention portrayed President Barack Obama's presidency in glowing terms Tuesday evening, but many left out important details or embellished his record.
Others mischaracterized programs backed by Republican challenger Mitt Romney and GOP running mate Paul Ryan.
Obama's landmark health care overhaul, which Republicans lacerated at their convention last week, and his job-creation performance were among the initiatives burnished the most.
First Lady Michelle Obama was the main draw and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro the keynoter, but more than four dozen other speakers made presentations.

Among the mischaracterizations:

SAN ANTONIO MAYOR JULIAN CASTRO: "Despite incredible odds and united Republican opposition our president took action. And now we've seen 4.5 million new jobs."
THE FACTS: While that figure has become a White House talking point, it's only part of the story. It's a cherry-picked number that refers just to private sector jobs created in the last 29 months, from the trough of the recession through July. Governments — especially state and local ones — have continued shedding jobs.
The economy lost 8.8 million jobs from the time employment peaked in January 2008 until it hit bottom in February 2010. Between then and this July — the most recent month for which there are figures — just 4 million jobs have been recovered. Never since World War II has the economy been so slow to recover all the jobs lost in a downturn.
___
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY KATHLEEN SEBELIUS:"Instead of sending your checks to your insurance companies, your insurance companies are sending a check to you. ...If you already have health insurance you like, you can keep it."
THE FACTS: Under the new health care law, insurers must issue rebates if they fail to spend at least 80 percent of premiums — Sebelius incorrectly said 50 percent — collected on medical care and quality improvement. But mostly it's the employer, not the worker, who gets the check.
The Obama administration says that about 13 million people will benefit from health insurance rebates averaging $151 per household. But the number of families actually getting a check will be much smaller, experts say.
For one thing, employers can plow all the rebate money — including the worker's share — back into improving the company's health plan. For example, they could reduce the premium for the following year.
Employers typically pay 82 percent of the premium for a worker, and 72 percent for a family plan.
Most workers and their families are covered by job-based health insurance, and the new law does not stop employers from changing their plans from year to year, as they do now.
___
SEBELIUS: "So instead of the Medicare guarantee, Republicans would give seniors a voucher that limits what's covered."
THE FACTS: She left out crucial details in describing the Romney-Ryan Medicare plan. It would not apply to the nearly 50 million current Medicare recipients but to future retirees who would join the program starting in 2023. Current beneficiaries could remain in the traditional program, while new retirees would get a fixed payment from the government that could be used either to purchase a private insurance plan or a new government program modeled on traditional Medicare.
Romney and Ryan say they have no intention of limiting medical care for seniors — only restraining the growth of costs. And traditional Medicare also has its limits. It does not cover everything. Long-term care is not covered, only limited nursing home stays. And most must seniors pay out-of-pocket for dental care unless they have private insurance that covers it. Medicare has copayments and annual deductibles, and that's also a form of limiting coverage.
___
SENATE MAJORITY LEADER HARRY REID: "We can only imagine what new secrets would be revealed if he showed the American people a dozen years of tax returns like his father did.... Mitt Romney says we should take his word that he paid his fair share. His word? His word? Trust comes from transparency, and Mitt Romney comes up short on both."
THE FACTS: Reid has challenged Romney on his tax returns before, but this time Reid omitted an earlier charge that over the past decade, there were some years when Romney paid no taxes — an uncorroborated claim that Romney insists is false.
Romney has released just one tax return, from 2010 and says he'll release his 2011 return once it's finished. He has steadfastly declined to make more than two years available.
___
CHICAGO MAYOR RAHM EMANUEL: "I remember when the president received a report that the auto industry had a few weeks before collapse... And because (he) made the right choice, over one million Americans are still working today."
THE FACTS: Emanuel, Obama's chief of staff at the time, makes it sound like Obama was the one who saved General Motors and Chrysler. (Ford never applied for federal help). But, actually, the auto bailout program was started by President Bush, then extended and expanded by Obama.
___
REID: "We learned he chose Swiss bank accounts and Cayman Island tax shelters over American institutions."
FORMER OHIO GOV. TED STRICKLAND: "Mitt Romney has so little economic patriotism that even his money needs a passport. It summers on the beaches of the Cayman Islands and winters on the slopes of the Swiss Alps."
WOMEN'S EQUALITY ACTIVIST LILY LEDBETTER: "...doesn't sound like a lot to someone with a Swiss bank account, Cayman Island investments and an IRA worth tens of millions of dollars."
THE FACTS: These are references to a $3 million account that Mitt Romney held for several years in a bank in Switzerland and investment funds set up in the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean. A trustee handling Romney's blind trust said that the Swiss account was active from 2003 until it was closed in 2010. The trustee said the account had been opened for "diversification." Romney still has active investment funds based in the Caymans, Bermuda, Luxembourg, Ireland and other foreign sites.

Bishop Calls on All Christians to Leave Democratic Party

E.W. Jackson
E.W. Jackson (Facebook)
Bishop E.W. Jackson is making a war cry: “Let God’s people go!”
Jackson, a Marine Corps veteran, graduate of Harvard Law School and adjunct professor of law, is echoing the words of Moses in a campaign to persuade Christians of all races that the time has come for a wholesale exodus of Christians from the Democrat Party.
The former candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia points to what he calls the Democrat party's “cult-like devotion” to abortion; the rejection of the traditional biblical model of family; the hostility hurled at those who express a Christian viewpoint such as Chick-fil-A president and Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy; the actions of organizations such as the ACLU and the Foundation For Freedom From Religion in suing cities and towns for displaying crosses at memorials or mentioning the name Jesus in prayer at official events.
Beyond all of this, Jackson says, Democrat operatives are also attacking Gabrielle Douglas, the 16-year old black American who won the 2012 gold medal in gymnastics.
“The accomplished young lady had the nerve to give glory to God for her win,” Jackson says. “This apparently offended liberals.”
Case in point: Mary Elizabeth Williams, journalist for the progressive online magazine Salon.com,wrote, “I've often wondered what it is about Christians like Douglas that unnerves me so ... Douglas and her ilk seem to espouse a faith based on what is commonly referred to as 'The God of Parking Spaces.'”
Jackson, founder and president of STAND (Staying True to America's National Destiny), responds: “Progressives are indeed 'unnerved' by devout Christians. That's why they resort to ridicule, even of a 16-year-old Olympic medal winner. Williams says we worship 'The God of Parking Spaces,' but I would prefer Gabby's God of grace and kindness to the leftist's god of ridicule and persecution.
“Our Heavenly Father loves us and helps those who are humble enough to ask Him.”
Later this month when Democrats make same-sex marriage part of their official Party Platform, the former practicing attorney says they will be spitting in the face of every Bible-believing Christian in America: “They will be saying, 'We don't care what you think, what you believe, or what the Bible or the God of the Bible says. We know better than God.'”
Jackson's message to Christians is, “The Democrat Party has turned its back on Christians. It is time to turn our backs on the Democrat Party.”

Constitution no defense against corruption, cronyism

By Phil Kent
There have been suspicions of corruption and cronyism at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport since Maynard Jackson became Atlanta’s first black mayor in 1973, with complaints that vendors trying to obtain business there simply were passed over in favor of a connected group of insiders.
At one point – in November 2004 – a poll by the Atlanta firm Insider Advantage found that two-thirds of respondents, when questioned about “awarding contracts and vendor rights,” thought the city’s airport process was “politically motivated and corrupt.”
At that time, former state Attorney General Mike Bowers declared, “This poll just shows what most people already know – that the airport administration is corrupt as hell.”
It seems like things haven’t gotten any better.
A 2011 white paper researched by Kennesaw State University Professor Kerwin Swint and commissioned by Common Cause Georgia documents a litany of favoritism, bid-rigging and corruption under mayors since Jackson. It reveals that the airport is essentially a “money pot” that is the underpinning of mayoral power.
The closest that the situation came to being blown open was when Atlanta-based Corey Airport Services, owned by businessman Billy Corey, fought the system.
As the best bidder for Hartsfield-Jackson’s extremely lucrative advertising contract, Corey Airport Services (along with a minority partner) was passed over in 2002 in favor of Clear Channel and its millionaire minority partner, Barbara Fouch.
Former Atlanta television reporter Dale Cardwell says Fouch “had absolutely no airport advertising credentials. What she did have was connections to city hall. Court testimony showed she was literally handed her share of the contract … through her friendship with then-Mayor Jackson.”
But Corey sued the city, Clear Channel and Fouch in federal court, investing approximately $5 million in the lengthy legal fight. He also commissioned a huge truck to periodically roam the city with giant signage blaring “Report Airport Corruption” – complete with a telephone number to call.
The July 27, 2010, Fulton Daily Report noted that, in closing court arguments, Corey attorney Jeffrey Harris reminded the jury that witnesses had revealed “the seedy, steamy side of how contracts out at the airport get into people’s possession.”
The newspaper reported Harris emphasized that the trial was about whether the city and its airport officials treated bidders for city business fairly.
The jury ruled they didn’t, and agreed that evidence of airport corruption and cronyism was overwhelming. Corey won a jury verdict of $17.5 million.
U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell even remarked that the city engaged in an “evil” conspiracy with Clear Channel and Fouch against Corey.
But within months, reputable Atlanta minority firms were passed over because of what they alleged were the same barriers faced by Corey. The award-winning engineering firm Precision 2000 (a certified female and Hispanic minority construction firm), partnered with Plateau Excavation, were the lowest bidders for an airport runway extension project.
They were rejected by the city, yet the recommended bidder was $3,946,458 above Precision 2000. The losers charged the contract went to a friend of Mayor Kasim Reed.
The city soon settled with Corey using taxpayer money while Clear Channel and Fouch appealed the jury verdict. Cardwell describes what happened next, just weeks ago.
“The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals decided that despite overwhelming evidence, Mr. Corey didn’t deserve the protection of the U.S. Constitution. Why? Mr. Corey was not part of a protected ‘class’ of Americans. You see, federal judges follow a code called precedent. If it hasn’t happened before, judges are extremely reluctant to create a ‘first.’
“In the past 50 years,” Cardwell notes, “federal judges have agreed to protect Americans based on age, sex, race, national origin, disability and religious affiliation. Those are our current protected ‘classes.’ The tragedy is the three-judge federal panel ruled it should not spend its time protecting everyday citizens like Billy Corey.”
Outrage and calls for Hartsfield-Jackson bidding reform were widespread, ranging from the fiscally conservative Fulton County Taxpayers Foundation to the liberal-leaning Common Cause of Georgia.
But to this day Cardwell reports that Reed and his city council majority still have never rebid the advertising contract held by Clear Channel and Fouch.
“A sad commentary,” he concludes.
Cronyism at the airport intensified after Corey’s loss, according to a series of stinging reports by WSB-TV’s Richard Belcher and WAGA-TV’s Dale Russell. They reported on who received contracts for 125 food and beverage concession stands as well as 27 retail locations at the airport’s new international terminal, which opened in spring 2012.
Atlanta Progressive News said at the time: “Reed continued his practice of closed-door politics, insisting upon secrecy in almost every aspect of the bidding process, raising numerous disputes surrounding the Georgia Open Records Act.”
WAGA-TV reported one major firm, Delaware North, submitted bids with errors yet was allowed by the city to rebid. It found the company was connected to Dan Halpern, Reed’s 2009 campaign adviser. Delaware North also contributed more than $22,000 to Reed.
Furthermore, the station counted up more than $80,000 in donations to Reed from owners or employees of several airport concession companies which received contracts. District 9 Councilwoman Felicia Moore also told Atlanta Progressive News that Reed submitted to council the terminal concession contracts for approval “in the middle of the night prior to the vote.”
Corey told the Atlanta Constitution in a Sept. 27, 2009, interview that the airport’s bid process is heavily tilted in favor of powerful mayoral insiders he called “royalty.”
Former TV reporter Cardwell said that remains the case: “It is still the royals versus the regular people. The royals control it, and outside businesses don’t have the opportunity to do business there.”

Bishop EW Jackson Defends Gabby Douglas: Time for Christians to Turn Backs on Democrat Party

August 15, 2012
By
Several things in this article touch a nerve with me. Bishop E. W Jackson says the Democrat Party has a “cult-like devotion” to abortion and tells of a Progressive “journalist” attacking Gabrielle (Gabby) Douglas, the 2012 Olymics Gold Medalist in Gymnanastics from the U.S., for giving the “glory to God” for her success.
Gabby Douglas
Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas
Case in point: Mary Elizabeth Williams, journalist for the progressive online magazine Salon.com, wrote, “I’ve often wondered what it is about Christians like Douglas that unnerves me so … Douglas and her ilk seem to espouse a faith based on what is commonly referred to as ‘The God of Parking Spaces.’”
Mary Elizabeth Williams
Williams doesn’t believe we need God, but we do need Oprah and have been blessed to have her for 25 years. In fact, according to Williams, Oprah’s success is downright “miraculous.”
Jackson, founder and president of STAND (Staying True to America’s National Destiny), responds: “Progressives are indeed ‘unnerved’ by devout Christians. That’s why they resort to ridicule, even of a 16-year-old Olympic medal winner. Williams says we worship ‘The God of Parking Spaces,’ but I would prefer Gabby’s God of grace and kindness to the leftist’s god of ridicule and persecution. Source
Jackson is the head pastor of the non-denominational Exodus Faith Ministry in Chesapeake, Virginia. He is a former Marine, attended the University of Massachusetts and graduated Summa Cum Laude in three years. He was awarded the Phi beta Kappa Key. He practiced law for 15 years in Boston and started the city’s first and only all-gospel radio station.
E. W. Jackson
Bishop Jackson served five years both as a minister for the Boston Red Sox Chapel services, and protestant Chaplain for the Boston Fire Department. He has taught Administrative Law at Northeastern University and business and commercial law at Strayer University in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia. Source: Exodus Faith Ministry
My friend Grumpy at Grumpy Opinions also posted on Jackson’s call for Democrats to leave the party. Being the bold Grump that he is, he sent his article to “friends, neighbors and family members who consider themselves Christians and Democrats along with his own note. He thinks he won’t receive back even one response. Here is one of his observations:
I have noticed that so-called Christians will listen to news of these attacks so long as you leave Obama out of the discussion.  The mere fact that I mentioned “the White House” will cause these so-called Christians from shying away because they do not have the cohunes to call evil out, no matter where it comes from.
Grumpy’s Christian neighbors, friends and family need to learn about the difference between Liberal Christianity, as driven by the National Council of Churches (NCC) which most traditional denominations are a part of, and Biblical Christianity. For instance, a former NCC president is leaving the NCC to join Interfaith Worker Justice, and he is urging Congress to pass a “Faithful Budget” to combat poverty. It’s all about Social Justice and little but cherry picking the Bible. The NCC has been “concerned about gun violence for decades.” If you are a member of any of the churches listed here, a part of the money you put in the church coffer, goes to NCC to further their agenda, which includes lobbying against your Second Amendment rights.
So much to say about the NCC, but for now, we need more E.W Jackson’s standing in our pulpits.

I love California dems looking out for my kids

Democrat admits, ‘Attack on parental rights’ is ‘the whole point’

Duh!
The author of a California bill that would forbid minors from seeking therapy to overcome unwanted feelings of same-sex attraction has admitted his intention was to undermine parental rights.
“The attack on parental rights is exactly the whole point of the bill, because we don’t want to let parents harm their children,” said State Senator Ted Lieu, D-Torrance.
