'Chili Finger' woman who planted a severed digit in Wendy's meal is now 'lying to police' about her son's shooting

  • Anna Ayala, 47, accused of making up evidence to protect son who 'shot himself in foot' despite being banned from owning a gun
  • Infamous 'chili finger lady' served four years in prison for her part in bizarre human finger extortion scam against Wendy's in 2005

The woman who was jailed for planting a severed human finger in a bowl of chili in an attempt to extort money from Wendy's has been accused of lying again.
Authorities alleged that infamous 'chili finger lady', Anna Ayala, 47, invented detailed reports of two men who 'shot' her 26-year-old son outside their home in San Jose, California.
Officers believe that Guadalupe 'Junior' Reyes, who has a previous burglary conviction and is not allowed to own a gun, shot himself, and his mother backed up the false story.
After the pair got their tales mixed up, police arrested them both on Thursday.

The infamous 'chili finger lady' Anna Ayala (left) is now accused of making up a story to protect her son Junior Reyes (right) who was found with a gunshot wound despite not being allowed to own a gun
They face up to four years in prison if convicted.
Ayala is accused of being an accessory to a felony and filing a false police report, while Reyes faces charges related to being felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The mother, who has a long history of filing lawsuits, was released from prison after serving four years for the gruesome Wendy's chili finger case in 2005.
The bizarre scam gathered worldwide attention after Ayala dropped the 1 1/2 inch section of ring finger in her bowl of fast-food chili.
Bizarre hoax: Anna Ayala and her husband, Jaime Plascencia, were jailed in 2005 after cooking up a scheme to plant a severed finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili to extort money from the fast food chain
Bizarre hoax: Anna Ayala and her husband, Jaime Plascencia, were jailed in 2005 after cooking up a scheme to plant a severed finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili to extort money from the fast food chain
It was revealed Ayala's husband, Jaime Plascencia, had bought the digit for $100 from a co-worker who lost it in an accident. He then took it home where Ayala cooked it before depositing it in her meal on March 24, 2005.
Wendy's claimed they lost $21 million in business because of the bogus allegations.
Now police accuse Ayala of dreaming up another tall tale to protect her son.
When officers found Junior Reyes suffering from a gunshot wound to his ankle outside the family home he told them that he had been attacked by a pair of men for 'for no rhyme or reason.'
According to the Mercury News, Ayala is charged with using her vivid imagination to back up his claims and she now faces more time in prison.
The mom said one of the attackers wore a black Oakland A's cap and Air Jordan sneakers, while his accomplice was a big man with a goatee and abnormally large ears who rode a black bicycle.
Ayala even gave a name for the supposed attacker. But when authorities found a match for the supposed suspect, they quickly ruled the man out of the accusations.
'I don't know if it was someone she knew who she described or how she came up with the description,' said Santa Clara County prosecutor Bret Wasley.
When officers went back to question mother and son, Wasley said that 'She backed off from her statements' while 'Junior changed his story into something unbelievable about him chasing after a dog.'
On her Facebook page 'about' section Ayala describes herself as 'Crazzzzzyyyyy and a very good chili cook... (finger lady )'

San Jose police Detective Nathaniel Braxton then confronted Reyes with the theory that the pair had made up the whole story as he wasn't supposed to even own a gun.
'I told Reyes that shooting yourself in the foot is not a crime, it's an accident, but making a false report is a crime,' reports the Mercury News.
'Yea,' said Reyes, according to the report. 'I shot myself.'
But when Braxton asked his mother about the new information she told him: 'I don't know nothing.'
Braxton said that he 'reminded Ayala that she went to prison for doing the same thing before' and asked her where the gun was.
She replied 'There's no gun no more, it's done, thrown away' before telling police she had returned the firearm to an unidentified friend.

'Ayala's statement confirms Reyes shot himself and she admitted to getting rid of the evidence,' reads the report.
Both are being held on $21,000 bail each and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Ayala now faces a maximum of another four years in jail while Reyes could be convicted to up to four years and eight months.
According to the detective's report, 'Ayala's final statement was, 'I'm not going back to prison for something that has nothing to do with me."'
Ayala appeared contrite after her release from prison, telling CBS that she had faced ridicule in jail for her part in the scam and that 'I learned my lesson and I just want to move on with my life.'
On Facebook, Ayala's 'favorite quote' is: What happend (all sic) in 2005 was the biges badest ? That happend in my life ....Im sorry for all the dameges i was in ..........i did the time and its in the past...'

Also on Facebook, Ayala's 'about' section reads: 'Crazzzzzyyyyy and a very good chili cook ... (finger lady ) ...'
In 2005, the Associated Press revealed that even before the chili finger episode, Ayala had been involved in at least half a dozen legal battles in the San Francisco Bay area.
She brought a suit against an ex-boss in 1998 for sexual harassment and sued an auto dealership in 2000, alleging the wheel fell off her car. That suit was dismissed after Ayala fired her lawyer, who said she had threatened him.
The case against her former employer was settled in arbitration in June 2002, but it was not known whether she received any money.
Ayala acknowledged, however, that her family received a settlement for their medical expenses about a year ago after reporting that her daughter, Genesis, got sick from food at an El Pollo Loco restaurant in Las Vegas. She declined to provide any further details.

‘Chick-Fil-A’ Didn’t Chicken Out and Neither Should We

I just noticed a coupon for a Free Large Chicken Sandwich for Wendy's on my desk.

'Just decided I'd take it in to Chick fil A the next time I'm there and show them I am coming to them, not Wendy's.  'Don't want a discount from them or anything else.  'Just want them to know how much I appreciate what they are doing.

Anyone want to join my effort?

‘Chick-Fil-A’ Didn’t Chicken Out and Neither Should We

Chicken Out“Guilty as charged,” was the statement recently made by Chick-Fil-A owner, Dan Cathy, when asked about his company’s support of traditional family values. Cathy’s stance has ruffled more than a few feathers and the cuddly cow has now been stamped as one bad egg. The Leftist brood is squawking the usual cries of hate, bigotry, and homophobia. A Bostonian mayor has now infamously stated that he won’t let the company nest anywhere near his city, so long as he reigns. One “gay rights” group has hatched a mass “kiss-in” idea at local restaurants, in an apparent gay PDA showdown. It seems gay pride activists shouting typical accusations of homophobia (“You’re just chicken!”) is supposed toreally show Cathy who rules the roost. (Note: Don’t mess with their pecking order.)
Like chickens with their heads cut off, the media is flapping about in an attempt to subdue and bully the only company willing to stick its neck out for faith and family values. Yes, walking on eggshells is the name of the game these days, what with Oreo creating the ever diverse rainbow cookie, it seems even food should be tolerant and diverse in social issues.
Unfortunately for liberals it looks as though Cathy won’t be chickening out anytime soon, further stating:
“We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”
Rather than taking Cathy’s statement viewed as a personal set of values with overtones of gratitude, leftists are outraged, crying “Fowl!” It is possible that much to the chagrin those who support “diversity and tolerance” (wink) one projection is that sales will shoot through the hen-house with all of the publicity and free marketing. Funny, Chick-Fil-A has had plenty of chicks to count even without a sunrise on Sundays.
And seriously, who doesn’t want a chicken sandwich, waffle fries and a down-home sweet tea after a good hen-pecking?!
What has flown the coop is any rational idea of freedom of speech and freedom to practice religion of one’s choosing. It takes a bird brain to go on a vicious and personal counter attack to one merely civilly expressing his freedom of belief. When it comes to diversity and tolerance, many on the left proudly display the egg on their face. Give them a solid, Bible believing person of faith, they set up the ring and strut around like a banty rooster, waiting for the cock-fight to ensue. (Sorry, PETA.)
For now, it seems it’s sunny side up for the “Eat more chicken” folks at Chick-Fil-A.
When it comes to standing up for faith, family, and values, that truly is something to crow about….

What's with the "leadership" of Wendy's?

Wendy’s:Intolerant of Free Speech in Support of Chik-Fil-A

Wendy’s: Intolerant of Free Speech in Support of Chik-Fil-A

wendysAcross the nation yesterday, Chick-fil-A stores were filled to capacity with patrons supporting the restaurant chain’s freedom of speech. In an interesting twist, the Wendy’s chain also got in on the action. An owner of more than 85 Wendy’s franchises in North Carolina, decided to show his support for Chick-fil-A with the following note on his stores’ signs: “We Stand with Chick-fil-A.” Wendy’s corporate offices were not amused.
The North Carolina owner, Jim Furmen, was apparently told by Wendy’s corporate stiffs to take down the sign and then went into defensive mode to deflect what they perceived to be negative publicity. Wendy’s corporate tweeted: “An independent franchisee posted the sign, which he’s taken down. We proudly serve ALL customers!” Kind of makes you wonder what “independent” means to Wendy’s corporate offices.
Wendy’s initial tweet set off a flurry of responses on Twitter, most of which were aimed at their statement about serving “all.” It was quickly pointed out that up until last week, Chick-fil-A was never known as being a restaurant that DID NOT “proudly serve all customers.” In fact, I can say without fear of contradiction that no customer who braved the crowds and long wait times at Chick-fil-A yesterday were asked by any company employee if they were for or against gay marriage. Chick-fil-A will “proudly serve” anyone who wants a chicken sandwich, regardless of personal beliefs or convictions, Wendy’s electronic protests to the contrary notwithstanding.
While the gay agenda-setters tried to spin the Chick-fil-A situation as being about marriage, the real issue is one of free speech and expression. Many supporters who came out yesterday were not necessarily expressing their views on traditional marriage, but on whether a company president has the right to speak his mind publicly and to answer questions from the media honestly. By forcing “independent franchisee” Jim Furmen to remove his signs, Wendy’s has shown that they will NOT tolerate the freedom of speech at their restaurants. They say they will “proudly serve ALL customers,” yet they will not allow their store owners to have the constitutional right to free speech. Who’s the bigot now?
What’s more is that Wendy’s may have stepped in it far more than they realize. As was already pointed out, the support for Chick-fil-A was not univocal. Many were supporting Chick-fil-A as a private entity over against a government one. Their presence and money were sending the message that political correctness can take a hike when it comes to private enterprise. By publicly isolating and distancing themselves from Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s has sent a message much louder than their intended message of “inclusiveness and tolerance.” Their intolerance to be counted among the Chick-fil-A supporters could very well affect Wendy’s economic bottom line. The overwhelming amount of eaters who waited patiently to spend money at Chick-fil-A yesterday are just as prone to not spend money at Wendy’s as they are to spend money at Chick-fil-A.
Further, if the long lines and open wallets are any indication of what America really thinks, the Democratic party could be in for a long campaign season. It has been said that time and money are the only two limited resources. If one is willing to work harder and more often (i.e. sacrificing time), more money can be made, which means that, in reality, time is the only true limited resource. We each have the same amount of it (unlike money) and we each choose how we will spend it. Since so many chose to spend their time and money yesterday in long lines at a fast-food restaurant, this should be an indication—rather than useless political polls and questionnaires—about what Americans really think. This should (but won’t) be a warning to the Democratic party, who have overwhelmingly chained themselves to supporting the gay agenda. Americans, when given the chance to “vote” with their time and wallets, have spoken. Is anyone listening?
TCC: YOU BETTER WAKE UP AMERICA! I’ll have a Chik-Fil-A with Fries and a LARGE SWEET HIGH CALORIE POP-48 Oz. SIZE!

Wendy's had it right --- for a while, then the suits

Why I Won’t Be Eating at Wendy’s

Evidently understanding that the religious and free speech liberties guaranteed by the First Amendment are under coordinated assault by the likes of Rahm Emanuel, a Wendy’s franchise owner in North Carolina showed that maybe this is still America after all:
wendys-chick-fil-a
But then came the response from the suits:
wendys-tweet
The implication that Chic-fil-A refuses to serve perverts is a lie — and under the circumstances, the most contemptible lie imaginable.
One day a Wendy’s executive will accidentally step outside the shrinking circle of thought deemed permissible by politically correct totalitarians. Punishment by bureaucrats will follow. But for now cowards consider it safer to suck up to the liberal lynch mob.
On a tip from Ghost of FA Hayek.
