No Voter-ID Means More Democrat Voters in November

voter-idA recent Washington Post poll showed that “74 percent of Americans favor government-issued photo ID mandates at polling places.” This meant little to CNN because the network, whose ratings are in the proverbial toilet, ignored those numbers “in six separate segments on voter ID laws.”
A majority of Americans believe that showing identification is simply common sense when identification is necessary to identify someone. When it comes to voting, liberals are incensed that anyone would have to prove who they are. If we were all saints, and a person’s word could be trusted, then showing an ID would be unnecessary. But that would be true for all types of calls for identification.
Elections are about money and power. Elected officials have control over our lives and property with laws they pass. Millions of people vote to empower people to take money from some people and give it to them. This makes them accomplices to theft. It’s little different from hiring someone to break into a neighbors house to steal money.
If a person is willing to vote for people to take money from other people, why do we think they will be honest about who they are? Who’s to say that they won’t vote more than once or scheme to use the names of dead people and pets to increase the vote for a candidate? Am I making this up? Voter registration forms were “mailed to hundreds of dead Virginians, children, non-citizens, pets, and others ineligible to vote.”
A judge in Pennsylvania had enough good sense to see through liberal outrage and upheld a law requiring that voters show identification. Judge Robert Simpson wrote, “Thus the photo ID requirement of Act 18 is a reasonable, nondiscriminatory, nonsevere burden when viewed in the broader context of the widespread use of photo ID in daily life.”
Are there political motives on each side of the issue? Of course there are. But that doesn’t change reality. Some people are liars and thieves in both parties.
The Justice Department’s civil rights division shot down a new photo ID requirement for voters in Texas because many Hispanic voters lack state-issued identification. A similar edict from the Justice Department was leveled against South Carolina.
When I saw the doctor to be treated for a sinus infection, I had to show my driver’s license and insurance card. On my way to work a few weeks ago, the police set up a road block to check insurance cards and driver’s licenses. I wonder if the Hispanics didn’t have to show any ID. (Of course, I’m not in favor of random ID checks. I only mention this to make a point.)
Every time I fly, I have to show my ID two times before I can board the plane. When I checked into the hotel, I was asked for my ID and a valid credit card. While in Las Vegas, I set up two business bank accounts. They wanted a whole lot of IDs. Last week I went to a different bank branch to cash a check, and the teller asked for my ID and wrote my license number on the check.
Here’s a convenient list of where you will need an ID:
DMV
Airports
Hospital
Pharmacy
Donating Blood
Banks
Gun Shop
Cashing a Check
Adoption Agency
Social Security Office
Pawn Shops
Jail
Using a Credit Card
Court
Union Elections
Here’s where liberals say you shouldn’t need an ID: In the voting booth where people choose candidates to make laws for all of us. Is it too much to ask that we want to know if they are who they say they are and haven’t voted in the place of someone else or have voted six times? I don’t think so.

The comedy of THE REV al sharpton, not to mention lil debbie

Don't you always find The Rev Al entertaining?

Reverend Al's Laugh Line: My Work Against Voter ID Laws Is 'Non-Partisan'

An MSNBC host and the Chair of the Democratic National Committee walk into a bar . . . Al Sharpton, uttering one of the more absurd laugh lines of this political season, actually claimed on his MSNBC show this evening that his campaign in Florida against voter ID laws is "non-partisan."

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz apparently hadn't gotten the memo about pretending Sharpton was non-partisan.  The Chair of the DNC, also a Dem Florida congresswoman, after delivering a super-partisan diatribe on the issue, giddily thanked Sharpton for his work--before the Reverend hastened to remind viewers that his campaign was "non-partisan."  You're killing us, Al!  View the video after the jump.
Note that Sharpton said he was heading down to Florida to continue his "non-partisan" campaign with "Bishop Victor Curry."  Curry is another prominent non-partisan, having come under criticism for lending his church's pulpit to yet another noted non-partisan: then Chairman of the Democratic National Committe, Terry McAuliffe.

Watch the video: and laugh along with Al!
DEBBIE WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: The Democratic party is going to do everything we can to make sure that regardless of whether you speak English or Spanish, regardless of where you live, if you are eligible to vote, and lawfully eligible to vote, we are going to do everything we can to make sure you can cast that ballot. The Republicans are doing everything they can to prevent it.

AL SHARPTON: Now, congresswoman, you know I've spent some time in Florida lately --

WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: Yes you did, and thank you for that [giggles] --

SHARPTON: -- around voter ID, and it's been non-partisan, not for either party --

WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: [getting the message] Right.

SHARPTON: -- going back with Bishop Victor Curry next week.

Illegal immigrants head to Charlotte

A busload of illegal immigrants has begun a month-long, cross-country tour of protests culminating at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., according to reports.
Approximately 30 men and women departed Phoenix, Ariz., on Sunday on a trip scheduled to hit states that have passed aggressive laws against illegal immigration, reports the Charlotte Observer.

The bus will pass through Colorado, New Orleans, Atlanta and several other cities en route to Charlotte, just before the start of the convention on Sept. 3, according to USA Today.
“We are tired of the injustice,” Fernando Lopez, an illegal immigrant who is originally from Mexico but now lives in Phoenix, told the Observer. “We are tired of the indignity.”
The civil-disobedience demonstrations during the convention will take place in Mecklenburg County, N.C., where police officers check the immigration status of those who are arrested. But a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office there told the Observer that officers will only detain illegal immigrants who’ve been arrested for committing a crime.

Romney camp asks Va. to probe voter forms

»  Comments | Post a Comment
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign is asking Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to launch an investigation into voter-registration forms that are being sent to Virginia residents and addressed to deceased relatives, children, family pets and others ineligible to vote.
The errant mailings from the Washington-based nonprofit group Voter Participation Center have befuddled many Virginia residents, leading to hundreds of complaints.
The organization has been mass-mailing the forms — pre-populated with key information such as names and addresses — to primarily Democratic-leaning voting blocs such as young adults, unmarried women, African-Americans and Latinos.
In a letter to Cuccinelli's office and the State Board of Elections, Kathryn Bieber, an attorney for the Romney campaign, calls for an investigation into the matter by law-enforcement officials, claiming that the mailings appear to violate "at least one and maybe several Virginia laws aimed at ensuring a fair election."
Bieber refers to the mailings as "tactics that amount to, or at the very least induce, voter registration fraud," and says the issue "presents a very significant risk to the proper administration of the upcoming general election."
Citing a Sunday Richmond Times-Dispatch story that brought the mailings to light, the letter also asks the State Board of Elections to require registrars to reject all pre-populated voter registration applications from the group and review the eligibility of all Virginians who have registered in the past two months.
"This is the only way for voters and other interested parties to regain confidence in the voter registration and electoral process that has been abused by the Voter Participation Center," the letter says.
Page Gardner, president and CEO of the Voter Participation Center, said the organization mailed nearly 200,000 third-party registration forms to Virginia addresses in June, which resulted in 15,026 new voters being registered as of July 18.
On Monday, the Voter Participation Center responded to the Sunday Times-Dispatch story, stating in a letter on its website that "imperfections in the VPC vendors' lists — while regrettable and unfortunate — should not be the reason or the excuse to call an entire process that is working into question."

Re Obama: Even Some Democrats Saying “Enough!”

By Allan Erickson / 22 July 2012 / 46 Comments

Description: http://clashdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/riotscene.jpgThe United States is on the brink of complete transformation, changes feared by prominent Democrats. They warn if trends continue the damage will be irreparable. Imagine: liberals warning about liberalism on meth amphetamine leading to the destruction of the Democrat Party, and the country.
Hyperbole? Read on.
Dr. Douglas Schoen has been a political advisor, strategist and pollster for 30 years. In 1996 he was Bill Clinton’s campaign consultant.
Patrick Caddell is a political consultant and pollster. In 1972 he worked on the McGovern campaign. In subsequent years Caddell worked to elect Jimmy Carter, Gary Hart, Joe Biden and Jerry Brown.
Schoen and Caddell, writing together, published an article in the Wall Street Journal on November 21, 2011. It was titled: “The Hillary Moment—Obama can’t win by running a constructive campaign, and he won’t be able to govern if he does win a second term.”
The lead paragraph reads:
“When Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson accepted the reality that they could not effectively govern the nation if they sought re-election to the White House, both men took the moral high ground and decided against running for a new term as president. President Obama is facing a similar reality—and he must reach the same conclusion.”
The final paragraph reads:
“If President Obama is not willing to seize the moral high ground and step aside, then the two Democratic leaders in Congress, Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, must urge the president not to seek re-election—for the good of the party and most of all for the good of the country. And they must present the only clear alternative—Hillary Clinton.”
This is unprecedented: Democrats at this level calling on Obama to step down almost a year ago. And they have not backed down from arguing that this President is a threat to both the country and their Party.
Caddell, writing for Breitbart several days ago, actually called Obama an incompetent liar, then coached Republicans how to defeat him!
Describing the corrupt political class that forced Obamacare on the country, and the legislation itself a “crime against democracy,” Caddell challenged Republicans.
“Some Republicans are worried that the fight over Obamacare distracts from the issue of the economy. What these Republicans fail to realize is that healthcare and the economy are inextricably linked; Americans now realize that Obamacare was a detour on the road to economic recovery, so to remind them of one is to remind them of the other. And the two issues, compounded, are all the more powerful.”
Obviously Caddell relishes an Obama defeat.
