What should become of ABC "News"?

Can it be that ABC's stepped in it once again?

Who put these clowns in charge?  And what are they feeding us?

James Holmes' Mother Disputes ABC Report About Her Reaction To Colorado Killings [UPDATED]

James Holmes Mother Abc
The mother of alleged Colorado shooter James Holmes is disputing an ABC report which said that she told the network, "You have the right person," when contacted about her son.
In the hours after news of the massacre broke, ABC said that it had spoken exclusively to Arlene Holmes in her California home:
The woman, contacted at her home in San Diego, spoke briefly with ABC News and immediately expressed concern her son may be involved in the shooting death of at least 12 people overnight."You have the right person," she said, apparently speaking on gut instinct. "I need to call the police... I need to fly out to Colorado."

But on Monday, a lawyer for the Holmes family read a statement by Arlene Holmes to the press, saying that she needed to "clarify" the comments attributed to her:
"I was awakened by a call from a reporter by ABC on July 20 about 5:45 in the morning. I did not know anything about a shooting in Aurora at that time. He asked if I was Arlene Holmes and if my son was James Holmes who lives in Aurora, Colorado. I answered yes, you have the right person. I was referring to myself.I asked him to tell me why he was calling and he told me about a shooting in Aurora. He asked for a comment. I told him I could not comment because I did not know if the person he was talking about was my son, and I would need to find out."

If Arlene Holmes' comments were indeed mischaracterized, it would be another black eye for ABC's coverage of the killings in Aurora. The network was forced to climb down from an unverified claim by reporter Brian Ross that Holmes might have been affiliated with the Tea Party.

Thanks ABC: Falsely Accused Tea Party Member Now Receiving Threats

ABC's Brian Ross may have apologized for linking Colorado Tea Party member James Holmes to the alleged violent "Batman" shooter who killed 12 and wounded 59 others in the early morning hours today, but that hasn't stopped threats against Holmes from rolling in. More from Twitchy:

More from Breitbart:
Holmes is a 52-year-old Hispanic conservative who joined the Tea Party after becoming disillusioned with the Republican party.
"It was freaky," said Holmes, describing his reaction when ABC News speculated that he was the culprit who entered a crowded theater and opened fire on dozens of innocent men, women, and children. He disconnected his telephone and says that he is worried about members of his family

Let's face it Progs Suck! They blame patriots for everything

National Review columnist Mark Steyn on Friday criticized attempts to psychoanalyze accused Aurora, Colo., “Batman” shooter James Holmes and any ties he may have to political organizations, as ABC’s Brian Ross attempted earlier in the day.
Guest-hosting Rush Limbaugh’s radio show, Steyn contrasted media coverage of the Colorado shooting to the 2009 massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, committed by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.
“Nobody ever says, ‘Where did Maj. Hasan get the ideas that made him want to stand on a table shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and gun down a bunch of people?’” Steyn said. “That is an isolated one-off. It doesn’t have anything to do with any books he might have read or any spiritual advisers he might have listened to. That’s an entirely insulated one-off.”
The incident in Aurora, Colo., evoked a more immediate reaction, with several Twitter users suggesting that Rush Limbaugh’s commentary on “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises” may have motivated the shooting.
“But when it comes to some guy of no known political affiliation, who may have no political affiliations whatsoever, but when he decides to walk into a motion picture theater and kill a bunch of people, then the first thing that has to happen is that has to be pinned on right-wing talk radio and Fox News and all kinds of other stuff,” said Steyn. “This is pathetic. It’s abysmal. It’s not worth talking about.”
And that according to Steyn, the author of “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon,” is evidence of a double standard.
“It only cuts one way — this,” he said. “Just think about the world you would live in if what Rush said about Batman was no longer within the approved level of political discourse… That would be the equivalent of living in a straightjacket.”
