This is not right on the money, but is in the ballpark

Confirms what I have thought about the Red Cross and United Way for years.  Give where the money you give does the most good.  Our Vets need help, as the Government does less and less for them.

  

I knew this, just didn't know the actual numbers. I've talked to military people who say the Red Cross is a big joke when it comes to helping military personnel abroad.

The American Red Cross President and CEO Marsha J. Evans' salary for the 2011 was $951,957 plusexpenses.

The United Way President Brian Gallagher receives a $675,000 base salary along with numerous expensebenefits .

UNICEF CEO Caryl M. Stern receives$1,900,000 per year (158K) per month, plus all expenses including aROLLS ROYCE.
Less than 5 cents (4.4 cents) per donated dollar goes to the cause.

Meanwhile...
The Salvation Army's CommissionerTodd Bassett receives a salary of only$13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 billion dollar organization.96 percent of donated dollars go to the cause.
