Mourning in America: The Aftermath of Hurricane Obama
By John Kirkwood / / 3 Comments
“This Tuesday is not an election … it’s a referendum. It’s not even a referendum on Mitt Romney or Barack Obama; it’s a referendum on freedom in America. This Tuesday, Americans get to choose between the French Revolution and the American Revolution.” – Dennis Prager, November 3rd 2012
“Americans have gone a long way down the wrong road.” – Billy Graham, November 7th, 2012
I’m not going to complain about the outcome last night because conservatives don’t blame the refs, but I can’t help but note that it smelled a lot like Venezuela last night. I went to bed last night in Venezuela and I woke up to mourning in America. We live in a different America today. We now live in the USSA and we have to adjust and prepare.
A majority of Americans chose the path of 18th century Frenchmen and 1930 Germans last night. A majority chose to vote for “revenge,” for redistribution of wealth, for abortion on demand, for abandoning Israel and for “leaning forward” in front of Dan Savage and Vladimir Putin. A majority of Americans chose to steal from their neighbors, their neighbor’s children and their own children (if they haven’t aborted them) to pay for their condoms, Skippy Peanut Butter, lottery tickets and Band-Aids. A majority turned a deaf ear to the cries from Benghazi. A majority closed the drapes on Israel and those Russian nuclear subs off our coast. A spatter of blue paint on a mostly red country shows where the cancer has spread and the metropolitan areas have opted-out of arduous freedom for the ease of complacent servitude.
David of Israel once asked, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” He lived in a parallel time to ours; his sovereign had just slain the priesthood and put a bulls-eye on the righteous men of the country, David among them. Albert Barnes comments,
The word ‘foundations,’ here, refers to those things on which society rests, or by which social order is sustained – the great principles of truth and righteousness that uphold society, as the foundations on which an edifice rests uphold the building. The reference is to a destruction of those things in a community, when truth is no longer respected; when justice is no longer practiced; when fraud and violence have taken the place of honesty and honor; when error prevails; when a character for integrity and virtue affords no longer any security. This is supposed to be the case in the circumstances referred to in the psalm, when there was no respect paid to truth and justice, and when the righteous, therefore, could find no security.
David was being advised to flee in the face of this danger, his response is telling: “In the LORD put I my trust …The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven … For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; his countenance does behold the upright.”
That’s just it, He beholds the upright, and He loves righteousness. He beholds us whether we win or lose and His only concern is that we be faithful, come what may. It’s not a mystery what we should do now, it never is. THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.
God never promises freedom to a nation that has forgotten Him. We’ve had liberty; we’ve lost it. We no longer live in a free America; we are now the victims of a tyranny that will be entrenched for as far as the eye can see. If there was something fishy about this election, it won’t matter. In the next four years, this President will pass an amnesty bill that will flood Democratic voter registration and bring in millions of new votes. If there ever was fraud in the past, it won’t be necessary in the future because we’ll be facing a perpetual Democrat majority.
The Supreme Court will be stacked with abortion loving, sexual anarchists who love affirmative action and socialized medicine. The Pro-life movement suffered an irrecoverable stroke last night, as well; Roe vs. Wade will last at least another generation. There is a collision coming between true believers and our increasingly hostile institutions; Catholic Bishops, devout Jews and Christians who mean it have all said that “We Will Not Comply.” At the same time, the position of the Obama administration on the collision of religious liberty and “sexual liberty” was best expressed by Chai Feldblum: “I’m having a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win.”
There is no sense in sugar-coating the loss “We the People” suffered last night. No need to underplay the reality that freedom loving people are in exile in our own country now. We are all Bonhoeffer’s in an occupied country; we need to adjust our thinking to that of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
There are certain realities that can’t be ignored, among them is that America’s new fiscal policy will be “eat the rich” and “there will be blood.” Liberals project their sins on their enemies so the constant harping on Nixon’s enemies list will play out in the threats of Valerie Jarrett that after the election: “it will be payback time.” The IRS will bludgeon the President’s enemies and threat of constant audit will mute his enemies.
The patriot’s creed is God, family, and country … we still have God and family and those are the foundations that we begin with. God reserves his choicest warriors for the gravest of battles and he has chosen us to stand fast on His hallowed ground in the most critical battle in American History and quite possibly in world history.
Washington, Lincoln and Churchill were all men that are remembered because, against all odds, they had faith; against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, they remained true and steadfast. We remember Bonhoeffer for his courage in the face of certain death.
I ask all of my brothers and sisters to remember that God has one message for the believer whether we are in adversity or prosperity, in freedom or in bondage – “The Just Shall Live By Faith!” The question is no longer “can America survive,” the new question is “can the righteous survive America?”
